Don’t read this today

The weather is too gorgeous — like that cute girl you’ve been meaning to, you know, actually talk to — for reading. Save these for the next rainy day.

On Presidential rhetoric, the difficulty of persuasion and why legislators won’t compromise:
“But being President isn’t the same as running for President. When you’re running for President, giving a good speech helps you achieve your goals. When you are President, giving a good speech can prevent you from achieving them.

On hiring good employees despite geographic distances:
“Unemployment may be stubbornly high, but talk to anyone in the media and technology industries, and there’s a good chance she will complain about how hard it is to find talented people. Why limit yourself? Great people are better than close people.”
