Flash me

An article I read today used the word “coruscate.”  Does it mean “to blind with cardboard,” a corrugated obfuscation?  Sadly, no.

My new favorite word means “to give off or reflect light in beams or flashes” or “to be brilliant in technique or style.”

Its roots go where any good language history should, back to the Latin coruscare, to flash.
